Service Delivery Teams

The teams involved in providing support within the BRCSD Service Delivery model include:

School-Based Team

School-based team personnel are generally on site and in the school daily. Teams may vary according to staffing available in a school, however they are primarily comprised of:

  • Principal
  • Learning Support Teacher/Coach
  • Literacy Coach
  • Classroom Teachers
  • Teacher Assistants/Educational Assistants
  • Family School Liaison Counselor

School-Linked Team

The school-linked team collaborates with the school-based team to provide support to students on a regular and predictable basis. These teams may include:

  • Speech Language Pathologists
  • Occupational Therapists

Regional Linked Team

On occasion, a student will require supports that are above and beyond the supports that are offered through the School Based and School Linked Teams.  The Regional Linked Service teams provide services for:

  • Blind or Visually Impaired
  • Orientation and Mobility
  • Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Educational Audiology
  • Physical Therapy
  • Mental Health Support

The school based team, in collaboration with the school linked team, will identify when there is a need to access members of the regional team.  A formal referral process, including written informed consent from the family, will be required.

Tri-Region Complex Needs integrated case team

The Tri-region Complex Needs integrated case team is created through the collaboration of three RCSDs including: Calgary and Area, Central East and Bow River. This case team works to support children and youth with complex needs requiring cross-ministry supports and services.

Supporting children and youth to be successful at school, at home and in their communities.
